Not bad.  So here is my pet peeve rant of the night.  How in the world are you supposed to dump your mower bag full of grass into those little walmart grass bags without dumping grass all over the place.  I tell you what – this was the biggest challenge of the night.  First it was windy so the darn bag wouldn’t stay still.  Then it just wouldn’t stay “open” enough for me to get the flippin grass in there.  I basically ended up dumping it all in one big swoop and then picked up the loose piles that missed, by hand.  Anyways, I might be going back to using the big garbage can for my grass holder instead of those walmart bags.  Rant over.

I got my first real good run in tonight.  Ran about 3 miles all around Morton.  I really had no idea where I was going which makes running a little more interesting actually.  My legs are a bit sore and I know I’ll feel it in the morning.

Ate some ice cream with the kids when they got home, got them to bed, now hanging out!

]]> http://www.knup.net/general/outdoors/running-mower-pet-peeve/feed 0 First mow at the new house http://www.knup.net/general/outdoors/mow-house http://www.knup.net/general/outdoors/mow-house#comments Thu, 24 Apr 2008 13:23:50 +0000 knup http://www.knup.net/?p=425 This week has been beautiful weather.  We spent the entire evening on Tuesday outside.  Kids shot some hoops and played on the slide, I pushed them on the swingset.  Very pleasant night.  I did my first mow at the new house.  At my old house I had a riding mower that was a bit of an overkill.  But after moving to Morton, I sold the mower and went to the self propelled push mower (thanks to Steve for having an extra one!)  The yard was very thick with grass.  Much healthier yard than our Pekin house.  Mowing took nearly an hour but most of that was due to bagging and learning the new mower/yard.

We then grilled out and had burgers and hotdogs on the new grill.  Love it!  It worked perfectly and the food was great.  All in all, it was a very good night at the Knuppel house.

We also met a handful of our neighbors and everyone has been super friendly so far.
