Christmas Letter 2005

This year has been an eventful one for the Knuppel household. We started the year off with news of a new baby. In the spring, we took our first big vacation with Drew to Orlando and Tampa Florida, along with his first plane ride (would not recommend plane rides with children under 3J). The summer came and Drew, daddy and I really enjoyed time outside with the neighbor kids and Drew’s new waterslide play set! Finally, in late summer, Alyssa arrived! She was an 8 ‘lb baby girl with light brown hair and blue eyes who melted all our hearts from the beginning. Here is what the Knuppel’s have been up to individually:

DREW: Drew’s been enjoying taking Spanish classes and playing with his toddler friends at 2 playgroups during the week. His favorite things to do currently include: playing with his cars, doing puzzles, putting stickers on paper, building with legoes, reading stories, watching veggie tales, and oh yes, wrestling and shooting balls with his daddyJ. He can really keep up a conversation nowadays and is still learning that the world just can’t revolve solely around him-that’s taking time! He’s a spunky, loving, funny, and joyful 2 year old who loves his family-especially his baby sister Lissa!

ALYSSA: She’s growing up fast and is in the 80th percentile for weight and height-definitely likes to eatJ She enjoys watching her brother dance around her and give her kisses, hold her hand, and find toys for her! She has such an easy going temperament and still loves her thumb! She enjoys playing in her mega saucer, watching her baby Einstein movies, grabbing her toys in her jungle gym, and giggling when we tickle her belly or cheeks! She has definitely found her voice for she squeals like a girlJ Alyssa is now venturing into baby food and is a big fan of sweet potatoes and pears. She’s brought so much more laughter, smiles, and love into our family.

RYAN: Ryan has been adjusting to life with two kids as well. While I’m feeding Lis, hes wrestling with Drew or while I’m reading books to Drew, he’s talking to Alyssa. There’s never a dull moment around our house once he arrives home from work. He’s still a program analyst at caterpillar and is looking to change positions within Caterpillar soon. He plays in basketball leagues about two times a week and manages to hang out with his college friends about once a week to discuss their current fantasy sport.  (Any of you wives out there who have husbands involved in fantasy sports can appreciate what I go through) He’s currently working on finishing our basement. With the help of the Peterson boys, it’s all framed up and should be done by super bowl!!! Ryan is such a wonderful father and husband.

SARAH: On to me. I enjoy my life of taking full time care of my two little blessings. The term ‘stay at home’ mom does not literally apply to me. WE enjoy going out every day whether it’s to a friend’s house, shopping, or simply to parkside athletics to work out and let the kids play. I’m currently working a few nights a week at Kings Kids Christian Learning Center to keep in the teaching field. I’m no longer active with Creative Memories after having Alyssa. The best part of my day is when Daddy gets home from work and plays with us as a family.

Have a wonderful Christmas and give thanks for Jesus and your family!
