Elmhurst Homecoming Weekend

This past weekend our family took a trip to Elmhurst and spent the entire weekend there. It was a lot of fun, and a lot of stress. 2 kids 2 and under in a hotel room is exciting. We drove up to Elmhurst Saturday and hung out around the campus. We chatted with the basketball coaches for a while and then just walked around and toured the campus. We spent about an hour at the Homecoming football game and ate a hotdog! We couldn’t sit and watch the game cause Drew just wanted to run around, it was cold! So after that, we all took off to check into our hotel.

We stayed at the Hyatt on the McDonalds Campus in Oakbrook. It was a beautiful hotel and great surroundings. But NOT very kid friendly. Parking was FAR from the hotel and they had no snacks in the entire place :) The pool on the other hand was extravagant. Very nice pool. The kids, sarah and I all went down to the pool before dinner and swam. Drew and I were the only ones that swam before dinner. He’s a little fish with floaties!

So for dinner, we met up with Josh and Julie Jourdan and Ryan and Christa Raska, some old friends from Elmhurst at Bennigans. Drew fell asleep on the short drive there and was zonked out. We had a good time eating and chatting and then headed BACK to the hotel. Alyssa didn’t care much for any car rides so she pretty much screamed both ways. Luckily it was a short trip to the hotel. So we swam again that night. This was Alyssa’s first ever swim :) She had a cute little swimsuit on and I got to hold her in the pool. It was kind of cold for her but at least she tried. Drew and I swam forever, he never wanted to leave!

In the morning, we went swimming again for a while, and took off for home. It was a short trip, but very fun.
