Well Drew did it! He had his first day of pre-school!!! It went great for him. Sarah dropped him off around 8:50 and she said he was a little teary eyed. He could sense that she was leaving him. But the teachers were good and immediately had him get his mail and put his bookbag away! His signature shape is the “Gingerbread Man”. Anywhere there is a gingerbread man in the room it has Drew’s name on it. So after some distraction, Sarah snuck out. She heard Drew cry immediately but she just left. She later learned that he only cried for a few minutes.

I guess his day went well. He is the youngest in his class of other 3 year olds. There are 2 boys and like 6-7 girls in the class. The other boy is a kid he knows from Riverside Church nursery so that was comforting for him. Drew brought Mrs. Mac cookies on his first day so he was pretty excited about that. When I got home he was raving about “Criss cross – applesauce” or something. I guess that’s what they say when they cross their legs to sit down? He also was talking about his gingerbread man, his new school shoes, his new Thomas backpack… Overall he was excited and it was a success. Hopefully he goes back in Wednesday with the same success! Drew is officially in school!
