Well, the first day of school went great. Here is how the final 2 days of the week went for Drew. On Wednesday, he got it in his head that HE WAS NOT GOING TO SCHOOL! Sarah wasn’t prepared for it, so she had Alyssa with her too bringing Drew to school. When they got their, Drew was kicking and screaming and flailing all around. He said his tummy hurt. He was refusing to do anything. With Alyssa in one arm and a screaming/kicking kid in the other, she decided it wasn’t worth the embarrassment this time around. So they went back home. So much for school

Well, on Friday we made plans for Alyssa to stay with a neighbor for a couple weeks during school dropoff time! This worked great. Drew still didn’t want to go, but Sarah was able to manage him this time and brought him into the classroom. The teacher immediately held him and hugged him while he was crying. Sarah left and the teacher said he stopped within a few minutes. After school, Drew was raving about how fun things were. He learned new songs, met new friends, etc.  Hopefully the dropoff gets easier for Sarah’s sake!
