I’m always looking forward to the Thanksgiving break; and I’m always ready for it to be over too! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope that all of you did too.
On Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, Sarah woke up sick! Not a good day to be sick. So I took the kids and headed out to my parents house for the morning. Then we went to Ross and Cindy’s house for the entire afternoon. What a long day for the kids! Drew did fine – but Alyssa was another story. She was missing momma and missing her nap! Once she got an afternoon nap, she was fine. We ate so much yummy food, watched football, played cards, shot hoops and chased around kids!
That evening the kids crashed early. Sarah was starting to feel better but I still just stayed away hoping none of us would catch it.
Friday morning Sarah felt much better – must have just been the 24 hour flubug or something. It was a beautiful day so we decided to go get our Christmas Tree! We didn’t want to spend a lot of time out there so we just grabbed a pre-cut one – Drew picked it out but it was perfect!
After that we swung by the Peterson household because Drew had been BEGGING to ride the Gator. So we went out there and Drew rode the Gator and little 4-wheeler all morning. We broke out the big boy toys and drove the big 4-wheelers as well. Steve, Drew and I took a ride down to the Mackinaw with the 4-wheelers – that was a blast! Later that afternoon I took Liss home to get a nap while Sarah and Drew hung out at Petersons all day.
We headed back out to Petersons at 4:00 PM for Thanksgiving with that side of the family. We ate a lot more food and just chatted with everyone. Once again, when everyone got home they crashed for the night!
We spent most Saturday and Sunday just relaxing with family. Sarah and I went out for dinner one evening – that was relaxing. The kids played outsided a few times. Everyone got naps. No one else got sick! All in all, it was a very fun Thansgiving weekend.
