Wii Shoulder

So getting a Wii for my birthday was awesome. A special thanks to my parents for this gift. Perfect. But after just 2 nights of playing bowling and HR derby - I officially have “WII Shoulder”. I’m actually sore from playing Wii - that is sad! You know I’m over 30 when I’m sore from throwing an imaginary bowling ball. On the bright side, I’m a “Pro” now and my high bowling score is 251. Anyone want to come over and play? It’s a blast.

I’m a perfectionist so these types of challenges just intrigue me. I always want to beat my score or raise my level in any of these games that I’m playing. The other night I couldn’t go to bed til I hit 10 for 10 in HR Derby (eat that Joel). I finally did it but not sure if I broke Joel’s total distance record. So my Wii Shoulder is only going to get worse I’m sure. Unless you start getting the Wii muscles in better shape the more you play. Who knows - all I know is it’s a blast.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had quite the busy (and fun) Thanksgiving 4 day weekend. On Thursday we went out to the Meeker’s house for a big Thansgiving meal. Spent most of the day out there watching football, eating, shooting hoops, playing with kids. The normal TGiving activities. Horrible NFL games on and I hope they ban the Lions from Thanksgiving games in the future!

On Friday we relaxed around the house and had some family bonding time. Played games and did some work. Was nice to catch up around the house. At night we had Thanksgiving at the Petersons house. Our kids were a bit on the tired side but overall it went well. We also celebrated Chad’s 35th birthday and my 30th birthday.

Saturday we chilllllled out! Well, I did at least :) Sarah went to a baby shower for Joel and Ashley. She took Alyssa along and left the boys home. We watched football and took naps. Heaven! At night Sarah took the boys with her to the Festival of Lights parade in East Peoria. I stayed home yet again, with Alyssa this time because she was running a fever. So needless to say I didn’t get out of the house much on Saturday.

Grand Bear Lodge with the Petersons

Every year Sarah’s family heads up to Ottawa area to enjoy a place called “Grand Bear Lodge”. We do this as our “Christmas” pretty much. This year we went a month before Christmas to avoid the business of December. Everyone had so much fun as always. The kids loved the indoor water park again. This year, we had the WII to entertain us in the cabin as well. They also introduced the first ever, Peterson Getaway Games, and can you guess who’s team won? Yours truly! Myself, Ryan Maas, Sarah and Bryce :) Enjoy the pictures.

Halloween 2008

I’ll combine Halloween into one giant post this year. We had our annual Peterson pumpkin carving get together a few weekends before Halloween. Which pumpkin wins? (see images below). Drew also had a little school party for Halloween which he loved. Our Halloween was pretty sucky this year. Alyssa was sick and Drew wasn’t feeling great either. I still took Drew trick or treating around our neighborhood but Alyssa was out for the count. We had family over to eat and help pass out candy so that was fun. Drew was a “spy”, Alyssa was a princess or something, and Bryce was a pumpkin. We have like NO pictures of them in their costumes - bad camera skills this night. Maybe Grandma has some?

Check this out. Sarah has always taken a picture before the kids first Halloween in a pumpkin diaper. I’ve put the 3 pictures together. It is almost frightening how similar Drew and Bryce look. Enjoy!

Chuck E Cheese without daddy

While daddy is slaving away at work - the family is off having a grand old time at Chuck E Cheese. I’m sure this is one of the playgroup outings or something. That’s ok, I’m not much for the plastic tasting pizza anyways.

Apple Blossom Fun

Since I’m really just catching up on posts, the writing will be minimal but will have lots of pictures. We went to Apple Blossom Farm as a family and had a blast. Drew and Alyssa loved the big slide. We all enjoyed picking apples and Bryce just enjoyed life.

Morton Pumpkin Festival

I can’t believe it’s been over a month since I have posted a blog entry here. Slacker! Anyways, this week/weekend is the Morton Pumpkin Festival. We always go to this but this is the first year we are actually “Potters” while this is going on. We plan on taking part in most of the festivities like locals should

Last night we brought the kids out to the Big Wheel races. Drew loved it. He drove around on the big wheels all night and did his practice warmups. It was basically a billion kids driving around and ramming into each other. Chaos. Once the races started they each got one shot to fly down the long race track. Drew came in 3rd I believe and was very proud of himself. He got a nice looking ribbon. Alyssa on the other hand wouldn’t have anything to do with it. I think she was tired.

So tonight we are probably going out there to enjoy the Pumkin Festival food. Then Thursday night is the “Kiddie Parade” that we will visit. Followed on Saturday morning by a run and the parade. Fun weekend ahead!

Knuppel family update

It’s been a busy summer. We’ve celebrated Alyssa’s 3rd birthday and enjoyed watching Bryce grow up a bit. Drew played in soccer and tball at the Morton Park District while Lissy did some ballet/dance. Sarah is just trying to keep up with all the kids. And Ryan is just working, Getaway Games and playing with kids. Several of you have asked for some updated pictures so here you go. Enjoy and would love to hear how you all are doing?!?!
