Fantasy Baseball Draft #2

We had our FSDL Fantasy Baseball draft on Saturday and it was a lot of fun. Myself, my dad, Pip, Carley, Escott and Rodney were in attendance while the Chicago guys met up north and drafted via Google Spreadsheets. The draft started up about noon and ended close to 2:30 PM. Here is the breakdown of my keepers and notable picks:

Keepers:
Carl Crawford
Chase Utley
Miguel Tejada

Players Drafted:
Bobby Abreu
Victor Martinez
K-Rod
Ben Sheets
Troy Glaus
Jason Schmidt
A. Dunn
T. Helton
Curt Schilling
W. Taveras
A. Wainright
Markakis
Anthony Reyes
Gagne
Bartolo Colon
S. Torres
Brad Penney
Pedro Martinez

Overall the draft went well. I wasn’t happy with my Adam Dunn pick but maybe he’ll hit some bombs. My team is stacked with guys that hit homeruns but strikeout and hit for low average (Glaus, Dunn, Abreu).

After the draft we played mini-ball. Escott and I dominated Pip and Carley 3 out of 4 games. It got pretty intense and competitive like usual but in the end we were just to big! Mini-ball is basketball using a miniature ball on a 9 foot rim. Awesome!!! It was a hit game growing up out in Manito.

ncaalogo.jpgStarting about 4:00 PM we played Poker and watched the Final 4 games. Joel came to add another player. We played one Texas Hold’em Tourney that Joel took down. Then we played random cards until like 2:00 AM. We are dumb! But it was just like the good old college days. Florida whooped up on UCLA while Ohio St. squeaked by Georgetown in the Final 4 games. And the Cardinals played the Indians in a pre-season civil rights game on ESPN. Fun night!
