    Thats actually quite brilliant…

  2. Randy Thompson says:

I have yet to have a class that lets you bring food or refreshments with you.

Oh my God. You’re a real genius. If it weren’t for you, I would enter my English exam tomorrow without a Coke bottle, only to realise that if I had employed your ingenious cheating technique, I would have had up to five lines of information in my hands. This will be awesome, as I only need up to five lines of information in an average exam and this just about cuts it. Thank you so much for this. Really.

  4. P says:

So THAT’s why they make you take the label off your drinks during an exam at my college.

Wouldn’t you think it would be a little obvious if someone kept reading their coke bottle? You think the teacher would think, oh their just suddenly REALLY interested in the ingredients and nutritional value… yeah, right. Just study up… either that or put it into your TI calculator.

This how-to reminds me of an open-computer test we had for chemistry in college. The prof /begged/ us to bring books and computers. It was a timed multiple choice exam that unless you couldn’t answer each question within a few seconds, you couldn’t complete it in time. Folks depending upon computers and books were found out pretty quick.

My favorite was the physics final where the teacher allowed a 4×6 file card with anything you wanted on it, front and back. I remember spending a lot of time going through the textbook, looking for important formulae and facts, writing them on the card… I could now relax going into the test, knowing I had my super cheat card ready. During the test, I noticed something interesting: I actually rememebered the stuff I had put on the card, and didn’t need to refer to it. The teacher had “tricked” me into “studying”! Go figure…

with the minimal information that you can fit on a bottle, and the time it takes to do all that, wouldn’t it be easier to just study or copy off the person next to you?

  9. Charley says:

What if you just spent the time it took to make the coke label studying five pages (vs 5 lines) of the exam material?

  10. Oliver says:

so this is why in the UK, we don’t have multiple choice tests
and we arent allowed drinks other than water in an unlabeled bottle

  11. The Moph says:

If I were someone looking to cheat, I would put text on the INSIDE of the label too. The bottle IS clear, after all…
