Over this past weekend my brother and I went down to St. Louis to watch the
opening Cubs/Cardinals game at Busch Stadium. All I can say is, wow!
What a game this was. The intensity was as high as I’ve ever seen it at Busch. Cubs fans were out in bunches and took over the stadium at times.
In our section (Way up top) there was a good mix of Cards and Cubs
fans. Plenty of trash talking occurred throughout the game. The game
itself was wonderful. Kerry Wood pitched a marvelous game for the Cubs
while Woody Williams matched his efforts. With the game tied in the 9th
inning, bases loaded, Latroy Hawkins WALKED (yes I said walked) in the winning
run. The place erupted!
The series ended in a 2-2 split. Can’t wait for the next series between
these two teams. I’m heading back to Busch in mid July!
