Yesterday was an exciting day for Pekin Basketball. They hired my old high school coach, Dave Mott, to be their new Varsity head coach. Coach Mott was an unbelievable coach and a great teacher of the game back when I was at Midwest Central. He then moved on and turned the Limestone program into a solid one. Now he’s going to the place he grew up, Pekin.

Anyone with kids coming up through Coach Mott’s program should be thrilled that Dave is in this position. He will teach the kids hard work, discipline, basketball fundamentals and much more that is necessary to make it in life today. This was a great hire by Pekin Basketball and I can’t wait to see how the program goes from here.
