Yesterday was the last day of the “Crossroads Shootout”. This was a basketball tournament I played in, held in Bloomington at Calvary Baptist. I played with Jeremy Stanton, Nate Conklin, Jason Conklin, Laban Cross, John Obrien, BJ, and Nick Anderson. We were very undersized and shot a lot of 3′s. I think we ended up 3-6 in the regular season and got the 7 seed, out of 10, in the playoffs. The first round of the playoffs we defeated the #10 team easily. Then in the 2nd round we upset the #2 team to move into the final 4. But out year ended by losing to the #3 team! It was a good time and a very good league. Well officiated, no fighting, GREAT competition (the winners were a bunch of ISU starters from last year) and lots of fun. A little long drive for me, but I’d do it again. We ended up with 3 guys in the top 10 in scoring (myself 22 ppg, nick 19, jeremy 19) and 2 guys in the top 10 in assists (jeremy led the league with 5.3, nick 4.6).
