Manito Disc Golf Tournament

Yesterday was the first annual Manito Disc Golf Tournament at Memorial Park. This frisbee event was ran by Kevin Burks and all proceeds went to the Manito Popcorn Festival. All Manito related teams showed up for this event on this perfect day. No wind, great temp, etc. The format was 9 holes of ‘Best Ball’ and 9 holes of ‘Scramble’, taking your total for the 18 and thats the winning team. Teams were pairs of two. Randy and I were one of the 10-15 teams to play in this event. We started out the Best Ball format with an absurd (for us) 9 under 22 score. This led out of everyone going into the clubhouse (well pavilion) after 9. Jeremy Hutton and Ryan Burks were a stroke behind at 23.

They matched the pairs up for the scramble format based on scores. So we were the last tee throw and were paired with Burks and Hutton. In the scramble format our putts started to not fall. We missed several 6-10 foot putts on the back 5 holes which killed us. We shot a 6 under 25 on the back 9 for a total of -15 and 47. Hutton and Burks shot another 23 for a final of 46 to take the championship. Kevin Munter and Trevor Hayden finished at 47 as well with a great back 9. The individual winner was Jeremy Hutton who finished with a 23 in the Best Ball by himself (what did Burks do?).

Overall it was a fun time and took just around 2 hours. Looking forward to playing in this annual event in the future.

  1. I thoroughly enjoyed the masters yesterday and glad Mickelson won.

Looks like Tiger Woods has lost his magic right now. What a terrible results in the Florida Championship.
