Red Means Go

Well, yesterday ended up being one of the best days in Sports I’ve had in a long time. Starting at 7:00 am I was able to score Game 5 World Series tickets in St. Louis. I got a 2nd chance drawing to get them online. Logged in, and was able to get 2 SRO tickets for $45 a piece. Going to the World Series in itself would be priceless. So, now I just need the Cardinals to win 2 games in a row over Houston.

My brother and I left for STL around 11:30. We arrived at the Metro station around 1:30 after our usual trip to McDonalds. The Stadium was a sea of Red. Cardinal Nation was everywhere. We made our rounds outside of the stadium to devour any free Cardinal items we could. Then we watched some batting practice down in the bleachers, then closer to game time went up to our nose bleed seats. We were about 6 rows from the top out in left field, but at least we were in the stadium! I got my usual, Diet Coke and Nachos, and the game began!

The Astros jumped in the lead scoring 1 in the first, but the Cards rallied for 2 in the first. Then again in the 3rd, the Astros scored 1 and the Cards scored 2. The astros added one more in the 4th inning, then the game remained scoreless until the top of the 9th. The Astros tied it up with 2 outs in the 9th inning, and the Cardinal fans were crushed. So we went actionless until the bottom of the 12th inning. Jimmy Edmonds crushed a 2 run bomb to deep right field to force a game 7. Everyone stayed and yelled/cheered for at least 15 minutes after the game was over. It was quite an experience.

So, we are now on our way home and get to listen to game 7 of the ALCS. The Red Sox JUMP all over the Yankees and beat them 10-3, giving them a World Series birth. Now they await game 7 of the NLCS tonight to see their opponent.

Tonight should be a good night. Suppan vs. Clemens. Let’s go Cardinals! RED MEANS GO!
